The OnePlus 8 pro has recently been launched on April 14th and I think its way ahead of its competition in India. Just by looking at the specs of the phone we can say that and some of them include a 120Hz punch-hole Quad Hd+ display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, a quad rear camera set-up IP 68 Water and dust resistant, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.0 storage, WiFi 6, 5G enabled, 30W wired and wireless charging. If you think that’s too much we’re just getting started.
But this blog is mostly about the display of this Smartphone which is just phenomenal.
The One Plus 8 Pro features a 6.78” Quad Hd+ display with 3168x1440 pixels and 513 pixels per inch(ppi), with a punch-hole on the top-left corner of the device which is for the selfie camera. It is a curved full screen flexible OLED panel which is a Samsung display panel (Fun Fact: Most of the top-tier Smartphone displays are produced by Samsung) and which has a 120Hz screen refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate for liquid smooth performance. In its High Brightness mode it can light up to 1444 nits and also it has a very high colour accuracy with a JNCD (Just Noticeable Colour Difference) of 0.3(the lower the better). The OnePlus 8 Pro display also supports 10-bit colour depth which means that instead of seeing the same 16 million colours in most smartphones you would be seeing a billion colours which not only makes images and HDR videos richer but also more colourful and lifelike. It also supports HDR10/10+ playback and due to an E3 material it emits 40% less Blue Light. Another important thing is that it is equipped with an MEMC (Motion Estimate Motion Compensation) chip which can be used to smoothen the videos shot at 24 or 30 FPS to a full 120 FPS so as to take full advantage of the 120Hz display panel of the phone. At last it has also received an A+ rating from Display Mate breaking 13 records.
